Natalie is the heart behind Naturally Nourished. She offers nutritional guidance focused on gut healing and perimenopause & menopause support, end-of-life doula services with care customized to the individual and their family’s needs, and grief guidance to support those in their grieving process. Inspiration for Holistic Nutrition

Growing up, food was a love language in Natalie’s family. She has fond memories of experiencing how nourishing, for both her body and soul, a good home-cooked meal can be; she loves to share that same experience with others. Natalie has always been interested in knowing where food comes from, how it is grown, the different ways it can be prepared and enjoyed, the way food brings us together, and how it is broken down and used by the body. This interest and curiosity are what led her to becoming a Holistic Nutritionist. Additionally, she has firsthand experience of the important role that nutrition plays in our healing process, as years ago she reversed Hashimoto’s thyroiditis within herself, following the gut healing protocol that she uses today.

Why Death and Grief?

At an early age Natalie experienced the deaths of several family members, family friends, and one of her closest childhood friends. In many of these situations, she would witness her mom, and aunts gather to form a care team of sorts, and by default, Natalie would come along. She became familiar with seeing people taking their final breaths, witnessing others grieve and experiencing her own grief. She claims death and grief to be some of her greatest teachers and continues to learn from them today.

With these experiences, Natalie saw a need and knew that she wanted to help others during their end-of-life journey. She feels that it is one of the greatest honors to be trusted to support someone in their dying process, and she is grateful for the continued opportunities that she has had. While death and grief are not always popular topics in our western world, they are something that we will all experience, and that we all have in common. It is Natalie’s hope that through conversations, education, and deep care and presence, she can help make these topics less taboo, with each person that she is able to serve.

How Natalie Nourishes Herself

Natalie is a big believer in the importance of self-care, and she makes sure to prioritize time for it. Some of her favorite ways to nourish herself are to hike, camp, spend time in nature, travel, create new recipes, practice yoga, meditate, make flower arrangements, laugh, and curl up with a good book and her beloved kitty, Rue.
